Alright, so I'm not actually our sponsor, but I thought it was a catchy intro and it was high time I contributed to this blog.
It's D-Day! Departure Day! After counting down the days for nigh on 4 months I'm now finally counting down the hours (silently, in my head, so that I don't drive Pet insane). I've packed my bags, had a shave and a pedicure and now I'm good to go.
So so long, Sydney, so long Australia. Be sure to miss me and I'll send you a postcard. In honour of Thailand, our first destination: "la-gon, chok dee. Lao jer gun!"
Mark & Pet's 2007 adventures through Thailand, England, Wales, France and Spain.

Today is the day
There is nothing left to do except get on the plane. That and cope with the hangover I have, thanks to my work colleagues. We went for drinkies last night to mark the end of my contract, and it was really needed. By everybody, think!
Next post from me is coming from Thailand. Ta ta!

By this time next week...
We are finally on the home stretch! We've started to pack our bags, we've looked at exchange rates, we are getting more excited by the day.
There's not much more to say other than: seven more sleeps!

What's two weeks?
Yesterday I told Marky he wasn't to rip the page of the holiday countdown without me this morning. I made the countdown 12 weeks ago, commencing at 14 weeks. I set it up so that every Friday, a sheet could be torn off and we'd know our holiday was slowly but steadily approaching. That's how desperate we are!
So this morning, after waking up and lying in bed complaining about what a bad night's sleep we had (thanks to the rain hammering on our neighbour's garage door all night), we got up, went to the countdown and carefully removed the page for three weeks, revealing that there are only two weeks left. Hooray!
Our greatest concern at this stage is the change from a proper paper ticket to an international e-ticket. What if, at Heathrow, they take a look at our flimsy paper print out and decide that we're not planning to go home and decline our entry on that basis! That would seriously tick me off.
I guess the reception at Bangkok will be the litmus test!

Three weeks and counting
It's three weeks to go until we set off on our adventure. Might I say we are growing more and more restless as the day approaches - the anticipation is almost as keen as the final countdown to our wedding. We want these weeks to fly, and yet not - because the weeks of our holiday might fly past equally as fast. Oh Thai Airlines! Warm my seat for me! Chill my wine. Crank up my movie. I can't wait to get on that plane!
